I admit, that the internet is a very big help to anything that I do. Today, everything may be found in the internet, since it is a "compilation" of different works and opinions about anything under the sun. With this, many of us would rather sit in front of a computer or a laptop and spend hours playing games or surfing the internet -- mostly on social networking sites. I read an article entitled "The Effect of Technology on Relationships" from Happiness in World.

In the said article, Alex Lickerman, M.D. said that "The problem, however, comes when we find ourselves subtly substituting electronic relationships for physical ones or mistaking our electronic relationships for physical ones."  I was awed by this statement. I personally think that this is true. "I've also observed people using electronic media to make confrontation easier and have seen more than one relationship falter as a result. We find ourselves tempted to communicate that way because it feels easier—but the outcome is often worse," Mr. Lickerman said, pertaining to some of the damages that we may encounter with technology on our personal relationships.

A few "tips" on proper etiquette on using technology was stated by Mr. Lickerman. His tips are:

1. Don't say anything on email you'd feel uncomfortable saying to someone in person.
2. Don't delay your response to messages you'd rather avoid.
3. Relationships are affected by online communication.
4. Balance time on the Internet with time spent with friends and family.

As we become more attached to this trend called "technology," let us not forget our lives before all of this happened. I believe that the internet has many types of "fun" in it, but there's A LOT MORE "fun" when you play with your friends in the middle of the street under the sun, with matching laughs that seem to be heard up to the other side of the world.
